She was the mother of the founder and first Chhatrapati of of the Maratha Empire, Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji Maharaj often took suggestions from her. She was the wife of Shahaji Maharaj, who was the first famous general from the Bhosale dynasty who served the Nizam Shah and later Adil Shah.
She not only brought up Shivaji Maharaj but also his son Sambhaji Maharaj. Both of them were great Chhatrapati of their time. So her contribution for Maratha Kingdom was priceless.
